MLS - THE AMERICAN AKKA DREAM?
We marked the end of the 2018/19 MLS Season recently and with this came a review of Akka. After 224 predictions it was time to see whether Akka could perform in leagues lesser known and with less information available. The findings make for interesting reading.
KEY STATS (EVERY PREDICTION)
KEY STATS (2-3 ODDS)
KEY TAKEAWAYS AND FACTS
Over the course of the MLS season there were both highs and lows. Please note Akka only started predicting games from 9th May 2019.
The greatest highs occurred when prediction accuracy hit 100% for a game day. This occurred a total of 6 times out of 26 (3+ games). The sum of these returns, assuming £5 bets, were £430.
This proves how profitable the MLS could have been for those following.
AGAINST THE MARKET
There were many occasions where Akka went against the the rest of the market.
An example of this occurrence is the Toronto FC vs Houston Dynamo game on 21st July 2019. This game had Toronto at clear favourites with the underdog being Houston Dynamo. However, Akka was able to identify a contradictory trend supporting Houston Dynamo and predicted them to win at odds of 3.93. They won.
Akka did this another 3 out of 6 times.
WHO'S THE BEST (& THE WORST)
There are obviously some teams that Akka found more predictable than others.
For example, the team it predicted every home game correct was Colorado Rapids. On the other side the team it predicted every away game correct was Houston Dynamo.
However, the team it found very difficult to predict when they were at home was Houston Dynamo (25%). The teams with the worst away accuracy were Portland Timbers and Toronto FC at 33%.
This indicates both the strengths and weaknesses of Akka.
WHAT DOES THIS SHOW?
These stats prove that Akka has managed to “Beat the Bookies”.
This is a huge achievement for Akka and the team at Akka.
